What is a 2 Way Lock Nut?

A 2-way lock nut, also known as a reversible lock nut, is a type of lock nut that can be installed in either direction without affecting its locking capability. Unlike traditional lock nuts that have a one-sided locking feature, 2-way lock nuts have a unique deformed thread design that provides friction against the bolt threads on both sides.
