What is a Slip-On Flange?
A Slip-On Flange (SO Flange) is a type of pipe flange designed to slide over the end of a pipe or fitting before being welded in place. Unlike weld neck flanges, slip-on flanges do not have a neck to rest against the pipe. Instead, the pipe is inserted into the flange bore, and fillet welds are applied on both the inside and outside to secure it. Slip-on flanges are popular in low-pressure applications due to their ease of installation and cost-effectiveness.
